Utilize CASTLO and other industrial areas

If you look at the surrounding communities in Mahoning county such as Austintown and specifically the west side of Youngstown, you will notice the manufacturing hubs. Big businesses such as Graybar, Grainger, Trumbull supply and many others have a hub in that general area. Local contracting companies as well as the public department’s (waste water plants, road maintenance crews) use these hubs to purchase equipment, pipe, tools and other supplies. The space in castlo and the recently acquired property in the bob cene area offer tremendous opportunities to attract a business like one of these. This would bring jobs into our city as well as tax money that can be used for future city plans and projects. These businesses employ a large number of people. We can use this to our benefit to attract residents and grow our population back to what it once was. I totally agree that our city needs a glamour side. Updated parks, youth centers, senior centers and tourist attractions. However, I feel that we need to establish business, population as well as a steady income stream for the city. Once that is in place the tourist attractions and the glamour will come.
