Architectural Preference

This survey starts out with a set of questions about historic preservation and downtown today, and then presents several sets of images for you to rate as appropriate for Downtown Struthers (meaning you think it will add value and create the Downtown of your dreams) or not appropriate (meaning that it won't). First we'll show you some buildings from local surrounding areas, then some from other parts of the country.

And here's the thing. The survey's a little long; we'll need about ten to 12 of your minutes. But we think you'll enjoy what you discover about your own preferences and vision for Struthers. Not to mention that the results are so important. We're not going to make the same mistakes as other areas. We're planning for development so it adds to the character, the feel, the flavor if you will, of Struthers.

Some of the images may seem redundant. But they're not. It's up to you, the community, to decide what types of buildings could make Downtown Struthers feel the way you want it to feel. And it's up to us to extract the architectural elements, such as building height, materials, and façade articulations to create the Downtown Design Guidelines that will guide new development in downtown.
