Submit your feedback for a walkable, bikeable Struthers
We want to see a more connected Struthers with more mobility options. So, we're out to understand how people get from point A to point B – and how they want to – using various modes of transportation. Especially in accessing basic services and amenities, like school or the grocery story.
A connected bike and pedestrian network would increase the community's quality of life and resilience. The presence of infrastructure that adds safe and enjoyable transportation options such as walking, biking, and taking public transit could offset the amount of vehicle miles traveled in the city. This has a positive impact on health and wellbeing, social cohesion, and the natural environment and lends to:
- safer streets
- cleaner air
- a greater sense of community
- economic vibrancy
- autonomy of movement for residents of all ages and abilities
So tell us. Is there a particular route where you'd prefer to bike, but don't feel safe to do so? Would you like to walk to school, but there are no sidewalks to get there? Maybe you like to walk at night, but need more street lighting. Perhaps there's no bike rack at the grocery store. Help us identify projects that can enable you to get around, outside of the car.

Update: the City of Struthers was selected by the Ohio Department of Transportation to receive technical assistance in the active transportation and mobility section of our plan! We will be working with ODOT for the next year to build on the planning process and prepare the City to prioritize and implement active transportation projects throughout the City.
Providing input is simple!
- Select a location on the map.
- Provide some context about your contribution.
- Using the tags, identify the issue your contribution is addressing.
- Optional: Share a photo of the issue, or the potential solution.
For example, if you are suggesting the need for a bike rack at school, find the location on the map, then tag "bike rack" and "needed". You can even share a photo of the spot you deem to be perfect! Or of a really cool bike rack you found on the internet.
If you feel unsafe walking somewhere at night, tag that location on the map, provide some context, and tag "safety concern" and even "street lighting" and "needed" if you feel that would be a potential solution!
Note: If the feedback concerns a route to school, tag "Route to school" as well. This will help the City create a strategy and secure funding through ODOT's Safe Routes to School program.
