unknown author2 months ago Spring Street in Struthers, Ohio, has become a high-risk area due to excessive speeding, with vehicles frequently traveling 50–60 mph in a 25 mph zone. Despite existing “Children at Play” signage, residents and particularly children are exposed to dangerous traffic conditions. This proposal requests the installation of multiple speed bumps or speed humps along Spring Street as a traffic calming measure. The goal is to reduce vehicle speeds, enhance pedestrian and child safety, and improve overall neighborhood livability. Implementing these measures will help ensure that drivers adhere to the speed limit and provide a safer environment for residents.

unknown author4 years ago An online link to a listing of local businesses and services. If a customer is looking to buy, or hire, they would have access to finding what they want within the city. A disclaimer would be needed for city liability. A minimal fee could be charged for registering your business to offset the cost, and yearly registration and upgrades would be needed. A counter could be added to the website to monitor how much the site is being used.

unknown author4 years ago I like the ideas that envision a revitalization of the downtown. However, there are some industrial enterprises, especially on Sate St leading out of Struthers toward Youngstown, that detract from the appeal of the area. These businesses do not depend on walk-in trade. We have a lot of land in the CASTLO industrial area. I think the city should offer initiatives for these businesses to move into the CASTLO acreage, getting them off the main corridors in and out of the city. This would yield more area for new businesses that are more in line with the new vision for the city, and create a canvas on which the city could create the kinds of spaces and appeal

unknown author4 years ago I feel that bus shelters are needed throughout the city at some of the busiest bus stops. The shelters should be clear for safety. Advertising in spaces in the shelter could be sold to help fund and maintain the shelters (Nothing completely obstructing view into them). “Memorial “ or “In honor of” benches could be sold to help with funding ,allowing for seating while people wait. Ashtray/trash cans secured in them would help to keep them clean. A phone number should be posted in them to notify the proper place if they are dirty or damage has been done.

unknown author4 years ago we need some kind of ordence for street parking when there is no cars in the driveway or room to park in the driveway. it is ridicules all the cars in the street when there are emptie driveways and garages that could be used for that purpuse.. I am tired of slowing down for the drivers that do not yeald when the car is parked in the street on there side but do not know the law or in to big of a rush to yield...

unknown author4 years ago I am unsure of what platform we could utilize, maybe Facebook, to provide a page where general questions could be asked regarding services or who to contact. Not to be a complaint site. Maybe a place to update the community on local projects or ask for volunteers. The planning page is nice for getting ideas,but doesn’t give the community much information on where we are with projects. Open lines of communication prevent rumors/ false information being shared. I know the mayor responds most times when tagged in conversations on Facebook but feel that a page specific for community information would be great.
