Community Priority Survey Results

The community was provided the opportunity to vote on Community Priorities that were derived from the Share Your Ideas phase. If you participated, we thank you for your time and effort – these are the priorities that are guiding the plan!

Below are the results of the Community Priorities survey so far:

Housing Priorities

1. Repair vacant and / or broken-down properties
2. Enforce housing standards across the City
3. Preserve properties that are historically important to the community
4. Subsidize repairs to improve the quality of affordable housing
5. Develop a balanced mix of housing types

Publicly Available Service Priorities

1. Youth services
2. Neighborhood cleanups
3. Senior services
4. Mental or physical health services
5. Transportation services

Public Space Priorities

1. Parks and greenspace
2. Community center
3. Plazas, squares, and other integrated public spaces
4. Youth centers and spaces

Public Facilities Priorities

1. Improve water and sewer utilities
2. Broadband and internet
3. Childcare centers
4. Library facilities
5. Emergency Response

Economic Development Priorities

1. Plan and develop the riverfront
2. Incentivize business development in Struthers
3. Enforce building standards across the City
4. Improve the City’s roads, sewers, sidewalks, and/or street trees
5. Prepare neighborhood commercial districts for small business development

Transportation and Mobility Priorities

1. Safety and accessibility for those who walk, bicycle, or use a mobility device
2. Pedestrian and bicycle facilities (sidewalks, bike paths, bike parking)
3. Downtown parking
4. Improved streetscapes
5. Safe routes to school for children and youth
